Landscaping Practice: Landscapes (24+1 Moon Rituals)

Mostly between 2022 and 2023 I have tried to translate into drawings inner movements and visions created after new moon and full moon mediation rituals. This durational piece, of which the landscape are a testimony, is part of my interest of using healing practices as creative tools. Drawing is a further development of my performance practice, where the body is the master and inspiration. Agnes Varda’s allegedly once said: if we’d open people up, we’d find landscapes”. I thought to find in me the seaside. I have found mountains, a volcano, a lake, a river, finally the sea. The idea of working with landscape has to do with the tradition in several cultures to use landscape both as contemplative theme as well as an escapist strategies of exoticism. I was also interested to work with the potentialities of what performers know as “the flow”, meaning a kind of fluid decision making that arises from the moment (or does it?) and questions the boundaries of inner and outer space, of ego and non ego. The subject is not the topic here, but rather the struggle between trying to follow the impulse and the will of form; a struggle of an ignorant artist, struggle to catch the moment, struggle to stay in it, struggle to believe, the desire of Devine (or anything similar), kitsch but somewhat real.
